What are Essential Oils? (ref: www.doterra.com)
Essential oils also known as volatile oils are naturally occurring, volatile aromatic compounds that are found in the seeds, bark, stems, roots, flowers, and other parts of plants. Essential oils give plants their distinctive smells, protect the plants and play a role in plant pollination. In addition to their beautiful fragrance, essential oils have long been used for food preparation, beauty treatment, health-care practices, cleansing applications and a wide range of emotional and physical wellness applications (Aromatherapy is using essential oil fragrance for therapeutic benefits).
- Aromatically: Inhaling through diffusion, steam or direct
- Topically: Applying directly or diluting with a carrier oil or lotion
- Internally: Ingesting through capsules or adding drops to water, beverages, dressings, sauces, etc.
- Improve your health and boost the flavour of your water or other beverage by adding a drop or two of dōTERRA lemon, wild orange, lime to your water, juice or tea
